Training

Our managers develop individually-tailored career paths for each of our employees. Through our skills programme we offer a range of core skills courses, focusing on developing skills and knowledge to help our employees meet the challenges of their job. The programme also gives our employees access to personal development courses, as well as the sponsorship and support needed in undertaking professional qualifications such as Prince2 Project Foundation & Practitioner and MSP Foundation & Practitioner.

Vocational learning

Our Vocational Learning programme helps our employees gain vocational qualifications. Since the programme was introduced in 2007, over 1,000 employees have taken part and achieved qualifications. In 2009 we signed up to the Skills Pledge which is a public commitment to improve employees’ skills and help them gain qualifications.

Managers Academy

We want to attract the right mix of people who will assist us in running and growing our business. Our company culture is one of strong leadership. Investing in skills and developing our people is critical to our future prosperity.

In 2009 we enhanced our approach to training and introduced the Capita Managers Academy, providing courses for managers to help them deliver our business strategy, respond to clients' needs and manage and support our people more effectively. Managers who complete a range of business and personal development courses have the opportunity to gain an externally accredited Institute of Leadership & Management Level 3 qualification in first line management.
