Capita Adventure Challenge

Fundraising day for staff, suppliers and client

Capita Challenge 2010

This year's Capita Challenge took place at Catton Hall, Derbyshire, where 85 teams of Capita employees, business partners and clients took part in a range of sponsored physical and mental challenges, raising a fantastic £63,000 for our corporate charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.

The day started with a frenzied uphill sprint to collect the first challenge – an Indiana Jones jigsaw puzzle. Teams then had to collect an envelope full of mental challenges, and most teams spent the first 45 minutes of the challenge huddled around tables frantically scribbling answers to questions about Indiana Jones, countries and TV shows! After which, the teams scurried off in all directions to test themselves against the day's more physical challenges. These included a couple of strenuous kayaking circuits on the lake, an inflatable assault course, mountain bike challenge and human hamster wheeling! On top of all that, there were the numerous 'dibbing' points spread out across the Catton Hall estate.

Rachel Gascoigne, Corporate Account Manager at Macmillan said "Everyone at Macmillan wants to thank and congratulate those Capita employees who took part in this year’s Capita Challenge and trust that they really enjoyed the day. £63,000 is a fantastic sum of money to have raised and we're all deeply grateful. This is a great contribution to the target of £1million that our partnership aims to raise and will help us provide medical, practical, emotional and financial support not only to people affected by cancer, but also their families, carers and communities."
