Annette Daley, Project Manager, Resourcing Team, Service Birmingham.

Capita employee

Annette joined the joint venture company in April 2006, when it was established by Capita and Birmingham City Council

“I now work as a project manager in Service Birmingham’s Resourcing Team. This involves facilitating Business Transformation recruitment; providing support to staff who make the move and forecasting future skills and resource requirements.

“Up to October 2005 I was an Applications Manager for Council Tax and Business Rates. From there I moved into a project assurance role and then helped develop the Council’s Corporate GIS project.”

As Annette’s involvement in the project came to an end, she explored opportunities within the Council that would utilise and develop her skills.

Annette’s current role is very different to those she has previously been involved in but she’s been able to apply her skills as an analyst and project manager to develop a thorough understanding of what is required in a Business Transformation role.

The position in the Resourcing Team was very appealing as it gave her the opportunity to apply her existing skills in a new environment. The move has also given Annette the opportunity to qualify as Prince 2 practitioner and to work with Capita Learning & Development to determine how she can develop in her new role.

“The creation of Service Birmingham has made a positive impact on my career, opening up more opportunities and enabling me to apply my skills in a different way and in an area that has always been of interest to me.”
