Companies use a wide variety of approaches to assess the impact that their activities are having on society as a whole. We measure and report on our impacts both internally through our management reporting and externally through our Sustainability report. We also participate in a number of benchmarking surveys.

FTSE4Good



Capita is included in the FTSE4Good index for socially responsible investment. The index measures the performance of companies that meet globally recognised corporate responsibility standards on CR We choose to participate in this index because its criteria more appropriately reflect the impacts and risks of a service business.

BITC Corporate Responsibility Index

Capita has been included in the Business in the Community Corporate Responsibility Index which looks at how we manage, measure and report our business impacts in society and on the environment.



Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World



Capita has been included in the Global 100 list of the most sustainable large corporations in the world for the second year running. Companies are judged according to how effectively they manage environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities.


Carbon Disclosure Project 2010



Capita were awarded an overall ranking of joint 6th place in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index which is devised by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). We were also awarded first place in the "Industrials" business sector.



Brand Emissions Leader



Capita has been recognised as a Brand Emissions Leader. The annual review assesses the carbon emissions performance of over 600 leading brands in the UK.
