We aim to support and invest in the communities in which we operate. The nature of our business places us in the heart of communities across Scotland – where we work and where many of our employees live.
When we deliver services to the public we want these communities to benefit both socially and economically. To do this we need to fully understand the communities we are serving, so that we work in the most appropriate way. We also invest in our own employees through training and volunteering opportunities to maximise the development of our people and talent across the organisation.
Our priorities
In order to operate in a sustainable and responsible way we focus on five priority impact areas:

- Managing our people well, by actively attracting and building a quality, diverse workforce of motivated and supported employees
- Creating a successful supplier relationship to ensure high quality, responsible and cost effective partnerships across the Group
- Running a resource-efficient business
- Investing in the communities in which we work.
Focusing on these impacts helps us to add value by delivering better services to our clients, which in turn means that we can consistently meet the needs of all our stakeholders and the wider community.
