In 2009, the NHSBSA selected Capita to provide managed IT services and to improve the efficiency of the 40m NHS dental claims processed and paid every year. The contract which lasts for between 7 and 10 years sees a genuine partnership between the NHSBSA and Capita, aligning long term goals to deliver high quality services to the NHS at reduced cost.
In processing all claims from NHS dentists, Capita aims to improve the speed and accuracy of payment, ensuring that the frontline services receive the support they need. Working with the Department of Health, as well as the dental industry, we are supporting new initiatives to pay dentists based on improvements to oral heath in their community.
As well as delivering significant savings to the NHS BSA, Capita has improved service levels and started a modernisation programme which will ensure the BSA has the technology support it needs over the long term.
