Andrew Martin Associates (AMA) – part of Capita Symonds - has been instructed by the Trustees of the Chatsworth Estate in Derbyshire to advise on development opportunities on its land holdings across the North Midlands.
Best known to many through Chatsworth House, ancestral home of the Duke of Devonshire, the Estate retains significant commercial, industrial, mineral and agricultural interests across the region.
AMA's teams of planners and masterplanners are currently working with the Estate's land management team to maximise development potential and land values within a framework that not only delivers economic returns but contribute to wider social and community objectives.
A key proposal is the mixed use regeneration of the Staveley Works area in Chesterfield District which comprises over 140 hectares of Estate land rich in industrial and social history. AMA is currently working with the Council, other landowners, members of the public and other stakeholders to prepare an Area Action Plan for the comprehensive redevelopment of the area to include residential, retail, employment and community uses and infrastructure. This development will make a significant contribution to wider economic and community regeneration as the district continues to respond to the decline of former heavy industries.
AMA is also promoting additional development opportunities in Chesterfield and neighbouring districts through the LDF process, with potential for both market and affordable housing as well as employment schemes.
