Capita retains quality benchmark for teacher recruitment

05/05/2009

Capita Education Resourcing, the UK’s leading education recruitment specialist has retained the DCSF Quality Mark, having successfully achieved 100 per cent accuracy during recent assessment of their recruitment processes. The prestigious award sets a benchmark for agencies and Local Education Authorities, and CER is the only agency to have consistently attained 100 per cent at every assessment since Quality Mark’s introduction in 2002.

To gain accreditation, Capita Education Resourcing’s offices in Reading, Hammersmith, Liverpool and Manchester were rigorously inspected by Quality Mark Assessors and the accolade demonstrates that Capita has continued to achieve the highest possible standard of recruitment selection and vetting of supply teachers.

Debbie Allinson, managing director at Capita Education Resourcing commented on the accreditation: “Maintaining Quality Mark status offers both confidence and reassurance to schools that our service is of the highest possible standard. The award also acknowledges the professionalism of Capita staff, and demonstrates Capita’s commitment to setting the bar in education recruitment.”

Kevin Green, chief executive of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) which manages the Quality Mark scheme, said: “Capita Education Resourcing is to be praised for continuing to excel themselves in reaching the optimum standard for recruiting supply teachers. The Quality Mark is becoming increasingly recognised within the industry as guaranteeing effective and ethical provision of supply teachers who are so crucial to the lifeblood of schools.”

He added: “It is clear, having consistently scored 100 percent in every assessment since being first accredited, that Capita Education Resourcing has worked particularly hard raising standards within the supply teaching market.”

Supply teachers make an increasingly important contribution to the smooth running of schools. At the same time, it is essential to ensure that the supply staff that are being placed within the schools are of the required standard and have been correctly vetted by the agency supplying them.

Capita Education Resourcing was one of the four educational recruitment agencies to attain the inaugural Quality Mark in 2002.  Agencies and LEAs that are awarded the Quality Mark are required to re-submit evidence every two years and have an inspection visit as part of the re-accreditation process, to demonstrate that they are continuing to meet the standards of the Quality Mark. New assessment criteria will now expect agencies to score 100 percent accuracy to be re-accredited.
